Hollywood Hospital, Clinipath Tenancy

Our Project experience

Overview

We worked with TKO Fitouts on a fire detection and emergency warning system upgrade for a new Clinipath space at Hollywood Hospital. This was a fast-paced fit-out that transformed a bare building shell into a modern pathology lab.

Scope of Work

We supplied, installed, and commissioned all fire hardware within the tenancy limits. The installation was completed to AS 1670.1 and AS 1670.4 standards. Our team tested individual smoke detectors for accurate location reporting and conducted sound pressure level tests for the emergency warning speakers.

Planning and Coordination

Coordinating our rough-in with the ceiling grid installers kept the entire job on schedule. We mapped our cable routes early to avoid clashes with other electrical and mechanical services.

Installation and Commissioning

Fire networks in medical facilities leave absolutely no room for error. We placed every device carefully to provide complete coverage across the floor.

Challenges and Solutions

Integrating with Hospital Graphics

A standalone interface fails in a large facility like Hollywood Hospital. We had to match our text programming perfectly with the existing onsite graphics software. We verified the data connection so security teams would see exactly where an alarm originated.

Achieving the Right Audio Levels

Setting the speaker tappings required detailed adjustments across the new floorplan. We fine-tuned the output to hit the required decibel ratings so the alarms were not uncomfortably loud for the lab staff.

Outcome

The Clinipath tenancy is now fully protected by a compliant emergency network. Every detector and audio device communicates correctly with the wider hospital infrastructure.

Client Response

TKO Fitouts appreciated the quick turnaround and our ability to keep pace with the other trades. The lab operates today with a reliable safety system that functions exactly as designed.
